Amanda Alcodia

Amanda founded Rerouted Health after fifteen years inside U.S. healthcare operations. She writes and edits most of what Rerouted publishes today.

Background

Her career began in medical records in a Southern California nursing facility and expanded across hospitals, skilled nursing, hospice, home health, detox, medical records and compliance, up to facilitating deals at the C-suite level.

Speaker — Cedars-Sinai, USC, CSULB, HASC, HFMA Utah Summit and more

Founder of two patient-education brands for the U.S. and Europe

In her words

I spent fifteen years in U.S. healthcare operations. I sat in the meetings where the decisions about patients get made.

I saw how much easier everything gets the moment someone in the room knows the rules — and how rarely that someone is on the patient's side. So I switched sides.

"I don't have a degree in healthcare administration — I have a PhD in experience."

At Rerouted

Amanda leads patient advocacy and writes and edits Rerouted's answers and articles — see the editorial standards for how pages are checked. She also works with people individually through Get Help, and is writing a book about her years inside the system: about the book.
