How Rerouted writes, checks and dates what it publishes.

This page describes the process that exists today. When it changes — for example when clinicians begin reviewing pages — this page will say so, and name them.

Who writes and reviews

Rerouted Health is small, and we'd rather say so than look bigger. Today, pages are written and edited by Amanda Alcodia, the founder, drawing on fifteen years inside U.S. healthcare operations. Every page is checked against its sources and approved by Amanda before it is published.

Rerouted does not currently have a medical reviewer, a clinical advisory board or a team of specialist editors, and no page should be read as if it had been reviewed by one. When a physician, researcher or other professional reviews a page, that page will name them, say what they reviewed, and date it.

People we feature, such as Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, are not reviewers or staff, and featuring them is not an endorsement.

Sourcing

Claims about rights, rules, deadlines and coverage cite the law, agency or plan document they come from. Health claims cite the research behind them, and describe it honestly — see How we research. Numbers come with their source.

Fact-checking

Before a page is published, its factual claims are checked against the sources it cites. Where a rule differs by state or has changed recently, the page says so. Anything we could not confirm stays out.

Review and update dates

Pages show when they were last reviewed. A date changes only when the content was actually re-checked or substantively updated — never to make an unchanged page look fresh.

Health and medical claims

Rerouted describes options; it does not prescribe them. We don't say a treatment works unless the evidence supports that for the people and outcome in question, and we don't imply that newer, natural, alternative or more expensive means better. Complementary approaches are discussed alongside conventional care, not as replacements for it.

Education, not advice

Everything on Rerouted is education and navigation. It is not medical, legal or insurance advice, and it is no substitute for your own clinician, lawyer or plan. Individual help, when you want it, is a separate paid service described under Get Help.

No borrowed authority

We don't invent experts, reviewers, credentials, testimonials, statistics or quotes. People and brands we write about are described, not endorsed. Anyone named on Rerouted is real and has agreed to be named in that role.
